MP to speak on battle to halt turbines
Severn Trent has announced plans to put up three 130-metre (426ft) wind turbines on water meadows between Aston and Burston.
Residents, who fear noise, a drop in property prices and disruption to wildlife, have set up an action group to campaign against the idea.
The Sentinel reported how more than 100 concerned residents attended an exhibition of the proposals at Aston Hall Farm last month. They have now collected 300 signatures on a petition.
And Mr Cash has promised to fight "tooth and nail" to stop the turbines being built.
He will speak about his opposition to the plans at Salt and Enson Parish Council's meeting at Salt Village Hall on Monday, from 7.30pm.
Labour MP for Stafford, David Kidney, who is the Government Junior Minister for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, and Severn Trent officials will also attend.
Mr Cash said: "There is no justification for these turbines on either economic or environment grounds. I have several other wind turbine plans in my constituency, all of which I am opposing tooth and nail."
Action group chairman Paul Shaw, of Burston Village Farm, said: "I am delighted at Mr Cash's support."
